Here are the results for the 2010 NIWA Wellington Regional Science and Technology Fair.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER TO READ THESE RESULTS.

Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thanks to everyone that entered. The standard of projects this year was outstanding!

The prize giving ceremony was held in the Maclaurin Lecture Theatre at Victoria University at 1:00pm, Saturday 28th August 2010. Prizewinners attended (in School Uniform if they have one) from 12:30 please.

Please see the note regarding picking up your Exhibit. We don't want to dump your good work, but have no way of storing them.

The schedule below should be able to be sorted by double-clicking on the column heading. Doing this twice reverses the sort sequence from normal to reverse order.

The Royal Society of New Zealand operates a web page that has a list of these fairs.

Please go here, to see about a fair in your Region (if you are not within the Wellington Region (as defined in our rules - Please see "Competition Rules" - Rule 1, about half way down the page).

Pick up your Exhibits on Saturday 28th August

Please make arrangements with School Buddies, Parents, yourself, your shadow, anybody to pick up your exhibit between 12:00 noon and 3:00pm on Saturday 28th August. The Committee has absolutely no storage space what so ever, and unfortunately when exhibits are not collected, we have to dump the results of worthwhile and exceptional work, simply as we do not have facilities to store, and distribute exhibits that are not collected.

It breaks our hearts to have to dump exhibits, but we MUST return the Universtiy to a teaching institution by Late Saturday afternoon.

Please ensure that your exhibits are collected between 12:00 Noon and 3:00pm on Saturday 28th August 2009. We hate tossing out all that good work and pride just because it was not collected.

Please note, we are not part of Victoria University. They have kindly provided us with a venue for you to exhibit your work (along with prizes as detailed in the "Prizes").

Science Fair 2010 Dates

Here are the dates for the 2010 NIWA Regional Science and Technology Fair:

Friday, July 23 - Entries Close at midnight

Wednesday, August 25 - Setup Day Between 12:30pm and 4:30pm

Thursday, August 26 - Judging Day (No public viewing)
9am - 12 noon: Classes 1 and 2 (Yr 7 and 8).
1 - 3 pm: Classes 3, 4, 5 (Yrs 9-13).
Students should be available at these times to meet the judges, and discuss their work.
After judging, students are encouraged to explore the rest of the fair, but please do not get in the way of the judges.

Friday, August 27 - Public Viewing 9:00am - 4:30pm. Announcement of results on this site - see below.

Saturday, August 28 - Public Viewing 9:00am - 12:00 noon, Prizegiving 1:00pm, Project Collection Between 12:00pm & 3:00pm
